What is ICF?

Coaching certification is as good as accreditation. International Coaching Federation (ICF) is the largest and one of the most influential organizations for professional coaches, with a global network. ICF has been actively driving the coaching professional towards growth by setting standards for coaching practice, competencies, and the Code of Ethics. ICF does not offer direct certificates to coaching aspirants. It accredits the training programs and individual credentials to professional coaches.

How to become an ICF coach in the UK?

ICF has the most coaching affiliations under it. The International Coaching Federation offers three levels of coach training:

  • ACC
  • PCC
  • MCC

Each level has specific coach training hours, exam, and coaching experience hours. On completion, you earn a credential.

Coach Training Hours:

  • ACC: 60+ hours
  • PCC: 125+ hours
  • MCC: 200+ hours

Coaching Experience Hours:

  • ACC: 100+ hours
  • PCC: 500+ hours
  • MCC: 2500+ hours

You will have to complete at least 10 hours of mentoring sessions under a credentialed coach. After that, you will have to submit the documents for the final assessment, post which you will get the training certificate.
