Came back home with not just a full stomach but also a full heart. We’re all strangers from different parts of the world, but this journey together of self-discovery, deep realizations, shattering of stereotypes, pushing our boundaries and broadening our horizons has made us feel more like partners and companions. In learning how to understand people to help them better, I doubt we are releasing the mind metamorphosis and the tremendous amount of self-awareness that we are experiencing. Even a single moment of self-realization, honest assessment of ourselves and seeing our lives in actuality can be so liberating. The challenge will be staying true to ourselves and staying true to our purpose long after finishing this course and are well into the grind.

After the practice coaching sessions, a few things became clear and emerging as areas to continually work on. Don’t just listen with your ears. The mind, the heart, and the gut have their own intelligence. Let all of these faculties be present with you and guide your inner voice. And the sound of that inner voice will resonate with the most disoriented and the most balanced clients.

An apple is not just an apple. It’s either red or green, unripe, ripe, or stale. It’s been harvested, plucked, or detached naturally; it’s either juicy or dry. An emotion exhibited, a word said, and an idea suggested need not be in isolation. There is a story behind it. Before you start to write the pathway to perfect it, be curious about the journey. Understand its pitfalls and highs. Understand where it got its energy and what sapped its vitality. What made the story sweeter and what added the venom. Effective life coaching will begin where horse blinders are shed. Seeing in totality with an open mind, heart, and soul.

All in all, creating memories for a lifetime while I attend this transformational and almost liberating learning experience under the able and seasoned guidance of Haris.

The relevance of understanding human modalities for a coach comes from the idea that it is a good practice to match the client’s modalities to the coaches as this organically starts creating a relationship where conversations start flowing smoothly without effort between the two. Often we find ourselves wondering why we don’t connect to people at a deep and real level even after we think that we genuinely have tried our best to. Dilemmas like I find it challenging to connect and gain people’s trust often come up in human relationships. It’s one thing to understand the person, and its another to understand their story. To be an effective coach, it is necessary to flow together in synchrony as the conversation progresses. Understanding the value and of the client, being able to sense the inner voice, and speaking from your gut are qualities a coach most aspire to acquire.

The human mind has a mind of its own. Sometimes you feel you are in control of it and operating from the driver’s seat, and there will be other times when it will refuse to conform and throw you off guard. As coaches and people who want to understand human behavior better, it’s a great idea to invest in practices to move you as close as possible to understand, be aware, and master the mind and thoughts.
