The ICF provides three levels or standards of coaching accreditations which are:

  • Master Certified Coach (MCC)

Each level/standard has further bifurcations in the form of:

  1. Accredited Coach Training Program (ACTP)
  2. Approved Coaching Specific Training Hours (ACSTH)
  3. Portfolio Path for Continuing Coach Education (CCE).

What are the Common Steps of ICF Credential?

Getting an ICF credential solidifies one’s position and credibility as a coach. Hence, your coaching training should be followed by pursuing ICF certification. It attests to a coach’s skill, knowledge, professional and ethical standards. However, earning an ICF credential will also require you as a coach to:

  1. Complete specific coach training as per ICF standards.
  2. Undergo a minimum of 10 hours of mentor coaching.
  3. Complete of the required number of coaching experience hours.
  4. Complete Performance evaluation (audio recording and written transcript of a coach session).
  5. Complete/Pass the Coach Knowledge Assessment (CKA).

Once you fulfill the above criteria, you can apply for ICF credential and join a global network of skilled coaches.
